The Gap We Set Out to Close
Influential Women in Law™ was established because no organization of comparable stature existed to recognize the achievement of women in the American legal profession.
The legal industry is not short on awards. It is short on credible, rigorously vetted, and genuinely prestigious recognition built specifically to honor the women who have shaped it. Too many "women in law" lists are pay-to-play directories, thinly veiled advertising products, or regional afterthoughts with no national standing.
Women who have spent decades building practices, arguing before courts, mentoring the next generation, and breaking barriers in a profession that historically excluded them have too often been left to compete for recognition inside honors that were never designed with them in mind.

A Recognition Whose Time Has Come
The story of women in the American legal profession is one of extraordinary progress. Just decades ago, women represented only a small fraction of practicing attorneys. Today, they comprise more than forty percent of the profession and represent the majority of law school graduates entering the field.
They have become leaders of elite practices, trusted advisors to Fortune 500 companies, accomplished trial lawyers, respected scholars, and influential advocates whose work has shaped the law itself.
Yet while the profession has evolved, meaningful national recognition has not kept pace. Influential Women in Law™ was established to change that.
